| Charles L. Cochrane was born in the hill country of Missouri in 1923. He moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, the home of the Pony Express and stamping grounds for Jesse James and the Younger Brothers. During World War II, he served with the First Marine Parachute Regiment and the Third Amphibious Corps, serving twenty-eight months overseas in the South and Central Pacific. After the war, he returned to Missouri to attend Moran School of Commercial Art and Kansas City Art Institute. In 1958, he moved to the west coast.
Although, Mr. Cochrane specializes in western and marine art, he has demonstrated an ability towards all types of subject matter; still life, structures, incredible landscapes, mountains, rolling surf and roses, all done with the same excellence and style the has made him so well known.
Charles Cochrane's paintings have been in prestigious galleries in Sedona and Prescott, Arizona. In California - San Diego, La Jolla, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Long Beach, San Pedro, Morro Bay and Cypress. Art World has become the exclusive agent for all of Cochrane's works. |
